Kawhi Leonard dominates in the 4th quarter

Kawhi Leonard did what? Against the Rockets on March 6th in the fourth quarter the better question might be what didn’t Kawhi Leonard do? In fact, Leonard has been pretty amazing in a lot of 4th quarters lately but Monday night in the 4th he dominated Houston.

Leonard scored 17 of his 39 points Monday night in the fourth quarter. In the final 30 seconds of the game however he put the dagger in the heart of Houston. Trailing by one point with 25 seconds Kawhi Leonard nailed a 3-pointer to give the San Antonio Spurs a two-point advantage. When Houston Rockets guard James Harden went for the game-tying layup, Leonard came racing into the lane to block the shot from behind. Leonard would get fouled and then sank both free throws.

Kawhi Leonard Game winner

In the span of roughly 11 seconds Kawhi Leonard hit a 3-pointer, blocked a shot, and sank two free throws. It is tough to get more clutch than that. Even more impressive, this was the fourth straight game in which Kawhi Leonard sealed a come from behind victory with a clutch play. As our friends at Pounding the Rock put it: Leonard has become an absolute monster when the game is on the line.

Whether he is a monster, the king of the clutch, or just a guy who refuses to lose you cannot deny that Kawhi Leonard wins games. Now Spurs fans can celebrate one of Kawhi Leonard’s many, many clutch shots with our new shirt, Kawhi Game Winner.
